Examination
The course has two examination components: online quizzes and coding assignments. Each of these is worth 1.5 credits. To pass the course, you must pass both components.
Online quizzes
The online quizzes test your understanding of the concepts, models and algorithms presented in the video lectures. They take the form of time-restricted multiple-choice tests and are done individually.
There are 6 quizzes for each of the 4 thematic units of the course. Each quiz can give at most 5 points. To pass, you must score at least 96 points in total and at least 15 points per unit.
To take credit for a quiz, you must complete it no later than by a specified deadline:
Quizzes | Deadline | |
---|---|---|
Unit 1–2 | 2024-09-27 | |
Unit 3–4 | 2024-11-15 | |
Final | 2025-01-18 |
If you fail to meet a deadline or points requirement, you can re-take the quizzes from the units you have not already passed during the final week of the course.
Coding assignments
The coding assignments or “labs” test your ability to implement the algorithms presented in the video lectures and evaluate your implementations. They come as Jupyter notebooks and are done individually or in pairs.
There is 1 lab for each of the 4 thematic units of the course. To pass, you must submit a notebook that meets the assignment-specific requirements via Lisam. From the submission we receive, we will randomly sample a few for an additional oral presentation via Teams.
To take credit for a lab, you must have submitted your notebook no later than by a specified deadline:
Labs | Deadline | |
---|---|---|
Unit 1–2 | 2024-10-25 | |
Unit 3–4 | 2024-12-27 | |
Final | 2025-01-18 |
If you fail to meet a deadline or do not get a Pass for some other reason, you can submit and report on the labs you have not already passed during the final week of the course.
Additional examination
We offer two additional examination opportunities for the course:
2025-03-20
2025-06-12
To take one of the additional examinations, you must contact the examiner no later than 10 days before the specified examination date.
After the second examination opportunity, you can still take an examination in connection with the next course session. Note, however, that the next session may have different content, assignments, or examination requirements.
